Pandemic ‘dispense to all’ provisions have been extended in England from 30 June to 30 September 2021.

Under the emergency measures, dispensing practices in England may be commissioned to dispense to all patients if there is an identified local need to maintain pharmaceutical services. This may happen if there are temporary changes to pharmacy opening hours or temporary closure of pharmacy premises in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Practices should wait for permission from their local NHS organisation before dispensing to non-dispensing patients.

The directions are available online.
