Tuberculosis (TB) may feel like a disease of the past, but worldwide it is one of the top 10 causes of death. In 2018, an estimated 10 million people fell ill with TB worldwide – and over 10 per cent of those were children – with cases in all countries: in the UK, nearly 5,000 people a year are affected. These statistics seems astonishing for a disease that is both preventable and curable.

This training module, available free and exclusively to DDA members, aims to arm practice dispensary staff with knowledge of TB, including what it is, how it is treated and prevented.

DDA members can visit the library of dispenser education modules to find the training, various activities to help reinforce your learning, multiple choice questions to identify any areas needing a quick recap, and a certificate of completion.
