The DDA would like to thank Dr Allan Tennant for his decades of work for the DDA. Dr Tennant has retired from his DDA role as vice chairman.
Dr Tennant was a founder member of the DDA Ltd in 1998, and was involved in the predecessor organisation for many years before that.
Notable among his achievements for the DDA are that he launched and edited the first DDA website and was instrumental in the successful 2008 campaign to save dispensing practices. This generated a public response to a DHSC consultation that remains second in size only to the abolition of smoking in public places.
DDA Chairman Dr Richard West says: “Dispensing doctors have much to thank Allan for. No chairman could have asked for a more dedicated and supportive vice chairman.
DDA CEO Matthew Isom said: “We are very sad to see Allan go, but his diligent work over the last twenty years has helped to build the strong foundations which has allowed the DDA to flourish. Allan’s understanding of the economics of dispensing has been invaluable and we will all miss him.”
