GPs in England have been advised that ordering for vaccines for the extended flu vaccination programme starts from mid-October, with the first vaccines expected to arrive from November.

New DHSC guidance explains the process for securing vaccines to support the extension of the flu vaccination programme to include new groups.

GP practices will be provided the DHSC vaccines free of charge but will only be able to claim an Item of service fee for each DHSC supplied vaccine that is administered.

Read the guidance to understand the ordering process.

The MHRA has granted a dispensation to allow movement of vaccines locally between practices and other NHS provider organisations and we would encourage you to work with your regional NHSEI Public Health Commissioning team to understand what stock is available locally before accessing the national DHSC supply.
